🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

The Mothers Ruin Humbucker set are named appropriately as your mother will have a hard time explaining why the glass has been blown from your neighbour’s windows… again.

“The neck pickup is crystal clear and warm being played through a clean channel Fender amp, there is depth to the mid and bass frequencies, but nothing is lost from the treble either. Played through a Marshall crunch channel, darker tones open up while retaining treble clarity. The pickups sustain notes well while allowing other notes to shine through the darkness. The neck can be pushed harder through a Hi Gain EVH 5150 and but muddies slightly in the lower end however clear and warm tones are kept when playing legato.

The bridge pickup is bright and somewhat spanky played through a Fender clean channel, mid and bass are diminished slightly letting treble remain in focus. The pickup remains clear when played through a Marshall Crunch channel where the darker tones found in the neck are not to be found, ideal for tight rhythm work. The bridge is ideally suited for Hi Gain tones created by the EVH 5150… there is no muddiness. The pinched harmonics scream through the legato work but does not feel uncomfortable to drop back to strumming.

This hot set has a lot of bite and would be ideal for drop tuning and atmospheric genres although if split up the neck pickup could be used for rock and blues and would not feel out of place with a less hot partner.“
